Happy 4th of July
Happy Birthday Brian
We made it back just in time for Brian's birthday on July 1st. Matthew picked out a scrubs DVD for his dad (which Brian loved), my mom made him a tunnel of fudge cake (His favorite from childhood) and the family gave him a Wii. I made him his mom's manicotti for dinner. Overall I think he had a pretty good day!

Where in the US are we????
The kids and I made it back from our 16 day trek halfway across the country. The kids were troopers. Katherine had was finally fed up by the last day-of course that was the 8 hour drive from Kentucky to home. I don't think I could have done that leg without my mom (we picked her up halfway through the trip.) Thanks a million Mom- I love you!
1st stop - Hopkinsville, Kentucky (Tana's house)
Katherine enjoyed her watermelon and was quite proud when she learned to suck the juice up off of her tray! Matthew spent a lot of his time outside-usually in the pool! Tana, Amy and I scrapbooked for 3 days!!!!!!!

mmmmmmm! Watermelon juice!

2nd stop- O'Fallon, Missouri (Grandpa's house)
We went to the butterfly house and played with Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches and millipedes. We also went to a wonderful park called Zachary's park-I'm not sure who had more fun there Grandpa or the kids!!!!

Stop 3: Milstadt IL (Nanny and Uncle Hap's)
We enjoyed a delicious lunch with Brian's beloved Aunt and Uncle. I only wish we had had more time to spend with them. Katherine was quite excited to see all the dogs and Matthew always loves to explore there property. I simply enjoy the wonderful company.

Stop 4: Rochelle IL (Oldemor and Great Grandpa's)
After a quick hug Matthew went straight out the swing he and Great Grandpa had hung 4 years earlier. Unfortunately the rope had not weathered well and wasn't long before the boy was on his bum! We visited Oldemor at the nursing home and Matthew told me he was very sad that Oldemor couldn't be at the house with Great Grandpa and it must make Great Grandpa sad too. I swear that boy has the softest sweetest heart-and I love every ounce of it.

Stop 5: Chicago IL (Uncle JJ and Auntie Tracey's house)
AHHH the land of toys! Both kids were thrilled at all the toys they were able to play with and mom was excited to be in a baby proof house for a day! It was great to spend time with old friends, I just wish Brian could have been there too.

Stop 6: St. Louis MO (Uncle David and Aunt Monica's house)
I starting to think that Matthew and Garrett were separated at birth! Those kids are two peas in a pod. I just wish they lived closer together! We were able to watch Garrett's T-ball, hang out with family, and Matthew enjoyed a good old-fashioned slumber party.

Stop 7: Carmi, IL (Great Grandma's Nursing Home)
Great Grandma was in good spirits when we surprised her. We sat out in the common area and chatted until dinner time. She was looking very good and I think she was quite proud to show off her great grandbabies!!

Stop 8: Hopkinsville, KY (Back at Tana's)
Tana was kind enough to put up with us again! This time we only stayed a day and a half-just long enough to gear up for the 8 hour drive home.
Stop 9: Home!!!!!!!!!!!
We came home to an immaculate house, new counterrops and lighting in the kitchen, and the start of new window treatments in the livingroom! Did I menton I love my husband?!?!?!!?
